As you can imagine, Mr. Grass gets all sorts of Emails - people from around the world (and probably the International Space Station) watch my lawn! ;-) On June 7th, 2016, Brad Pearson
contacts me saying he is a writer/editor for Southwest Airlines in-flight magazine and would like to write a story about ...
Watching Grass Grow.
After some misc. Emails, Brad decided it was worth a visit to actually see the lawn in person and he stopped by on
September 15th, 2016 to check it out in person and chat with "Mr. Grass." We end up chatting about all sorts of things,
but best if you actually read Brad's story. Who would have thought that WGG is worth a 9-page article, but Brad does a fine job in his
"Botanical Investigation"
which was in the March/2017 Southwest Airlines Magazine.
Who knew that Watching Grass Grow was worth a 9 page story?!? ;-)
LOL when Brad asks me how to keep the grass green and I reply "Water the crap out out of it! ;-)"
Here's the cover of the magazine
Brad stops by for an interview in Sep/2016 ... plus five months later when the magazine he sent me arrives in the mail
As noted in the article, my wife and kids were not aware of this ... and they were flying Southwest in March ... so
I was hoping for a big surprise. But a Facebook friend of "Mrs. Grass" posted how hilarious it was to see
it while flying, so the cat was out of the bag. Brad was pretty funny plus insightful with his analysis. While I did get a chuckle out of the "Wut iz diz" quote to
match the "butt" picture of me moving the concrete hippo, it would have been cool if they had used the picture of me mowing the lawn with my boys - they were a LOT smaller back then! ;-)
In the May/2017 Southwest Magazine, there were several letters about the WGG article
