I actually started out with the weed whacker, then the lawn edger (has been a while, so tough going), and then finally the mow itself. Ummmm ... still no sign of the Finch parents - this is very bad/sad. June 3rd seemed like a "normal" day in that after an overnight sleep on the nest, Momma Finch spent most of the day there with occasional visits by Poppa. But she flew off at 8:00PM ... and I haven't seen her since. Poppa Finch came back briefly the following mid-morning as you can see in the first two images below.

Recall they showed up in late May/2008, nesting in my rain gutter ... so I installed a webcam and got some nifty pictures/video of it. The House Finches returned in 2010 ... but this time, they built their nest in a wreath on my front door and I saw five of 'em hatch, grow, and then fledge. There's a break halfway through as the mower wasn't running well until I cleaned the spark plug.
