I've been very fortunate to live on "high ground" and only had some minor issues like a several dozen gallons of water that got into the garage and basement. Fortunately, the shop vac did a pretty good job and I have some fans running to dry out the carpet. But this is truly a natural disaster as a LOT of people have suffered terribly. Normally we welcome rain in dry Colorado ... but this was too much!

I just looked around (plus washed the webcam enclose - see 2nd picture below) and didn't see any nests. There is a funnel of pitch (a derivative of tar once used to waterproof boats) that is slowly dropping into a flask below. At first glance one would think that pitch is solid, it even shatters when hit by a hammer. But as seen in this experiment it is actually a high viscosity liquid that moves very slowly (it's only dropped eight times since 1930). It stays green through our very hot north Georgia summers and through the winter. I seems to start in clumps but is spreading somehow thankfully. my only problem is it is mixed with crabgrass and I haven't put any crabgrass killer on it for fear of hurting the grass since I don't know what kind it is. is it a fescue since it stays green all year round or could it be a bent grass? I do not take much care of it and it is drought tolerant.
